Okay, now this looks interesting. Funny, they didn't tell us during which timeslot the trailer will premiere on Thursday. My guess is near the end of Grey's. I'm not gonna be glued to ABC all night...

reply

Hey Tal, they didn't say it was going to premiere on television. It could be an online premiere. Plus, if it does... it'll be online within 2 min. Don't waste your time in from of the television Thursday lol.

reply

ABC is desperately trying to up its ratings for Thursday nights. The trailer premiere is an excuse for people to watch Notorious and HTGAWM on Thursday night, both shows have been performing very poorly. Notorious' failure is a serious drag on HTGAWM.

reply

Yes!

reply

Riiiiight. No Jake and Mellie? They need to stop playing games. #baitandswitch

reply

Jake is in the exploding house. That's why Olivia is sad with Fitz.

reply

According to Josh Malina, the Season 6 trailer airs during GMA tomorrow morning around 8:30 and they'll also announce when #TGIT returns.

There was a person on Tumblr that claims she saw some of the filming of season 6. She believes Vargus is shot dead after Mellie loses the election.

Making Cy the POTUS??? That sounds pretty good actually. If true, who would be Cy's VP I wonder??? Or his Chief of Staff???

reply

I could be a staff member planting a rumor to get people talking.

If true, I called it too. It's too easy for Mellie to win. Plus, it would be too easy to make comparisons between Mellie and Hillary if Mellie would win.

That would actually be interesting but I can't see it. It displaces too many people. Mellie. Abby. Jake. WTH they gonna do? Cy wouldn't hire Jake and Abby for anything because of their pasts with him--he tried to beat Jake with a baby vase and Abby took his job--and we all know Jake has to have a big important job just cuz

Liv could be his Chief of Staff though

reply

Jake is in the exploding house. That's why Olivia is sad with Fitz.

From your mouth to God's ears. Please let this be so...

reply

It's prob just a trap to make them think Rowan is dead.

Seriously, this would easily be one of the greatest storyline decisions ever for this show if this were to happen. But it sounds too creative for Shonda. With her on this show we always get the most super obvious storylines, so i'm fully expecting Mellie to win.

reply

That's not actaully true. She throw so many curves balls (like muderous presidents) in the finale that it is nearly impossible to predict the finale outcome. Did anyone correctly guess the endings for Difiance? Or Rememington? Or Albotross? Or that Jake and Cyrus would be VP?

If anything, she tries far too hard to not be obvious.

so i'm fully expecting Mellie to win.
I'd like to ask what this is based on? Mellie geting accused of having better storylines is because Shonda allows her to lose. Season 3 where we learn of her rape and her losing her lover and respect of her children is often considered her best season. A good storyline does not mean a character "wins". Heck, it is often the opposite, because it allows actors to show their vulnerable side. Mellie -or any other character- doesn't need to win to get good storylines.

reply

Or that Jake and Cyrus would be VP?

Totally. Especially since it's no secret Shonda originally wanted Jake for VP seasons ago.

reply

I hope you're right because I've been looking forward to seeing how they would do a woman president. Cy is just too evil for the job and he's always borderline heart attack and I really don't care about Jake or Vargas

reply

I cant wait for january 19th.

reply

How was it???
Edit: Meh. Saw it. Idk why I'm not moved lol. I absolutely love this show ok but that did nothing for me. Oh well. I have to say though, things are so much easier when you're no longer at the edge of your seat.

Obviously the early seasons had some alright curveballs, but these later seasons the majority of these "curveballs" have sucked HUGE ass (mostly because Rowan is always involved). And it's annoying how there isn't any fallout from them. And If she was really throwing "curveballs", this show wouldn't be getting it's ass kicked creatively by almost any other show on TV. And if she was really trying hard not to be obvious, she would stop with these silly ass predictable one-sided showcase scenes.

And it was predicted by everyone for awhile that Jake would be the VP pick. I remember thinking to myself after reading Bellamy's interview about the finale, how sad that she's actually hyping up Jake being the VP as some major surprise. It just summed up what is wrong with this show. Other shows are pulling out heavy hitters, but the show's weak link that's forever been forced all over the show, being put in as the VP choice is seen by her as some major surprise?

And of course no one predicted the abortion for example, but everyone and their dog knew Olitz was going to break up again and this time Shonda would be even more cruel about it, while it was even more super obvious that she would then put Olivia right back with Jake, even though we all can see Olivia doesn't need to be around that fool.

With any other show, we don't have to continuously worry about these type of stupid & lazy ass storylines, while sadly on this show it's to be expected.

I say she wins because I don't see Shonda passing up an opportunity in making someone that's been continuously shown as a victim that's "owed", not be awarded the White House.

Hope i'm wrong, but I just don't see her not doing it. But if we're wrong, please gloat away because it truly would be one of the show's biggest legit surprises.

reply

I believe Mellie is going to win. I also believe that is her in the trailer clip and not Liv. Mellie had on a red suit blazer just like Liv.

reply

That's clearly Olivia who leans her forehead on Fitz's chest. That pic is everywhere on social media, especially Twitter. And they're using that pic on almost every blog site to promote scandal's return. Go figure. Plus Liv had on that red suit when the clip first started and showed her talking to Mellie. They're in the White House. You can kind of see Fitz in the background while Mellie/Olivia are talking if you look close enough. We all know Mellie will probably win. Even though it would be totally unexpected and way more entertaining if Cyrus/Vargas won. I think it'll come down to the last few seconds Olivia/Mellie will think they've lost and then Rowan will do some defiance type of crap to get Mellie the presidency.

reply

I believe Shonda has filmed different scenarios and will air the scenario that is most compatible with the outcome of the general election on Nov 8. If Clinton wins, Mellie will be president. If Trump wins, Vargas will win. But I've seen on Twitter that Vargas will be killed during his victory speech and Cyrus becomes the President-elect. In this scenario, Cy could offer Mellie or Jake the VP slot, with Rowan's influence of course...public "unity" ticket...

reply

But I've seen on twitter that Vargas will be killed during his victory speech and Cyrus becomes the President-elect.

If that happened that'd be awesome and totally unexpected. That could also explain the explosion that Huck and Quinn saw in the trailer. Maybe Vargas and his family are inside? But who would Cyrus choose as his VP for this so-called unity ticket. I'm going to guess Mellie, what else would she do on the show if she loses the election. And we all know that Jake will stay in Olivia's orbit no matter what his job/or lack there of, is. Cyrus winning and becoming president would be really cool. Even though he's the biggest monster on the show next to Rowan.

reply

JFC I'd literally be in heaven if Cyrus Beene is POTUS and Mellie Grant is his VP. Gawd could you just imagine those two, with Liv as the damn Chief of Staff. It'd be, just, so spectacular. I don't know how all of the choices work but if Cy did become Pres, could he pick Liv as VP??? She def has more experience than Jake and Mellie.

reply

While CNN is using an Olitz pic from season 5, the one where Fitz is holding Olivia on the couch to promote the trailer. LOL

Something like this would be storyline gold for the show. And it's a storyline that they could then genuinely get out there and sell and the majority would love it. While it's a given that a big segment of the fans are going to rip the Mellie & Jake stuff.

And if they can't do that, I guess Mellie as his VP wouldn't be the worst thing ever, IMO. Just anyone else would be better than Jake.

reply

Not to mention that over the 8 years as a whole, Cy & Liv ran the Whitehouse for the most part. It would be epic if it came back full circle and this tale ended with those two finally being in charge legitimately. They always were anyway. Another thing I like is Liv is Cys girl. Its like he literally groomed her for greatness with himself still as her Mentor. I always assumed the final battle would be Father vs Daughter. But it could end up being Student vs Teacher.

reply

I will take Cy/Olivia
Or Cy/Mellie with Liv as C.O.S. That would be really interesting. It's stupid Jake that's makes me worried something like that won't play out.

I've always liked how even you who hates Fitz and loves Mellie, can acknowledge that Jake gets taken care of on this show.

What's funny about that is I think that people assume that Olitz/Fitz fans despise Jake. I'm a Fitz fan to the core but I do like Jake and I'm glad he was added. I just like Fitz more. Even though I like Jake, I'm fully capable of admitting and recognizing the pointlessness of the character. The reason I loved Jake being added is because I genuinely didn't get Liv or what the problem was. It wasn't until Jake was brought on that I realized Liv was the biggest spaz in the history of television. I mean it was clear she had some metal health issues before Jake but if it wasn't for Rake(Rowan/Jake), we would have never known just how serious Livs head issues were. I think he should be appreciated for that alone.

reply

Lol yeah. Jakes character should have been gone the first season he entered the show

OT- I was really hoping they would change Olivia's hair this season. I'm tired of that curly flip. I was watching the Peeples last night where her hair was bone straight with a bang across. It makes her look fresher. I know that's suppose to be her signature hair but they could switch it up

reply

I hate her hair curled like that. I like it straight like it was mostly in seasons 2, 3 and 4. I assumed it was back to the curled hair for season 5 because didn't they try to say season 5 was back to the basics or something??? Idk. That curled hair makes her look like somebody's grandma. Not sexy at all.

reply

Yes, it ages her. I don't know what they're thinking with this and some of Mellie's styles, especially the older ones. Bellamy looks so much prettier off the show with her natural hair.

reply

So from what I gather from social media Olitzers are pretty excited about the trailer. Not sure why. In one scene they're yelling at each other and in the other scene Fitz is sad and Liv is laying her head on him like she just gave him bad news. She looks sad too, but okay.

Also some people on FB were confused and pissed because they thought the show was starting on 11/3, not the trailer. Somebody said they even changed their shift at work to watch it 😒

Omg lol. That's so pathetic. I don't understand why anyone would do something like that. And if they would, somebody that loves the show that much to rearrange work for it would know that it starts in Jan.

I've never gotten this either. I guess, they're trying to make her look older, but they just end up not doing her any justice. Bellamy is really gorgeous outside of this show.

I don't get this either. More because like I was saying before about this show being predictable, it was pretty obvious there would be an Olitz scene in the season premiere, especially after such a long wait and because they need an obvious "money shot" for the promos, so how can these Olitz fans take the scenes too seriously?

And I don't mean to be a downer to the Olitz fans that choose to follow the story Shonda's telling or the fans that want to hope the show is going to get good again, I just mean I don't get these fans that are and will be hyping up these Olitz scenes like crazy.

reply

The Olitz fans will hype up the Olitz scenes like crazy because it excites them. I'm not exactly sure how someone could not understand that. If something you really like is out on display, you're going to get butterflies and look forward to it. I mean, they're fans. What should they do if they don't get excited??? And as far as taking it seriously, I think they actually just take it for what it is. Just a little Olitz moment. Nothing more. Nothing less. I honestly don't think that Olitz fan really think that that moment will lead to professions of love and sex in a corner.

But they do Star. Seriously. Have you seen Scandal FB/Twitter? That's what I'm talking about.

I get happy when a couple I like are in a good and hopeful place, but as I stated before in other threads, Olitzers will take any old thing and it's kind of sad. Shonda'nem know just what to put in a trailer.

I'm not talking about the Olitz fans that are taking these teasy scenes for what they are (i'm in this camp). I'm talking about the Olitz fans that are at this time and will be as the season gets closer, hyping up these scenes as some sort of "rebirth" of Olitz and then if these scenes end up not being anything, it will be most of these same fans that will as usual be upset. I'm not at all talking about the fans that are excited, but they'll be ok if the scenes end up sucking major ass.

And not to say these fans are wrong for being positive, I just don't get them setting themselves up yet again, to be disappointed. Especially after what they saw in season 5.

But they do Star. Seriously. Have you seen Scandal FB/Twitter? That's what I'm talking about.

Exactly. I'm seeing this too. I mean, overall, from what i'm seeing, most Olitz fans are seeing the promo for what it is and are rolling their eyes, but it's been a tad surprising to see how many fans are getting hyped for the new season because Olitz was featured in the promo.

Meanwhile Abby's hair's been laid since season 3. If I were K or B I'd be like, "Come on man."
