Is Liv really expecting to be 100% in control like she was with Fitz???

I'm wondering what Liv truly thinks is going to happen if Mellie becomes the POTUS. Does she think that Mellie is going to hang on her every word and be the obedient puppet that Fitz was??? This season, Livs thing is getting back in the oval and she's riding on Mellies back to make it there but I'm really thinking about it now and I don't see how Liv is going to benefit from this.

If Mellie wins she could totally flip on Liv and shut Liv out after Liv gets her in there. And then there's Jake who I still think is working with Rowan. If Mellie gets in with Jake as VP, I have a feeling Jake will coldly flip on Liv too. Liv will never have the oval the way she had it with Fitz. She needs to accept that. It's over. Is Liv really expecting Mellie to win and she be in complete control like she was with Fitz???

This is why it is so hard for me to get on her bandwagon because her motivation makes little sense. She'll never has as much power as she once did. No, she won't be able to control Mellie like she did Fitz. That's also gonna hurt OPA if she can't cash in on presidential favors, but it's not like they do cases anymore, any way. Even if Mellie made her COS, that doesn't mean Mellie will listen to her the way Fitz did.

You can add her bestie in there too because I don't understand what Abby's doing? She knows the horrible things Cyrus has done so why is she fighting so hard to prove his innocence? Why is she so sure he didn't do it that she's acting out of character and what's in it for her? Her job is gonna be over in a couple of months.

This is why Mellie is my fave character right now. At least she makes sense and I know what she wants and why.

Another thing that I see being a problem in the future is that this Vargas situation will ruin Cy and Liv. Their relationship has been rocky the whole series but the relationship has always been there. The Cy and Liv relationship has been necessary and I think it will always be necessary. There's been times when Liv was on the outs with Fitz, Mellie and David and the only WH person she was talking to was Cyrus. But now, because of Livs accusations, her and Cy will be true enemies. At least they better be enemies. Shonda better not just have everything be ok between them after this.

As badly as I wanted Cy to be president, itd be unrealistic for Cy to end up still being POTUS after being arrested. It will also work better for the writers having Mellie win because Liv at least has a shot at getting comfy at the WH again without having to be on good terms with Cy. Her and Cy can stay enemies. But since we're all expecting it to be Mellie, I'm hoping Fitz picks Jake if he can. That'd be a good twist and Liv can traipse along the seal in the Oval in jakes face for at least 4 years.
