"Extra" carry-home from RedBox becomes the hit of the night

I never get just one movie from RedBox to avoid the old BlockBuster pain of having to make two trips for just one movie. So, I got two movies the other day and was looking for a third to make the two trips worthwhile. I picked up this apparent little trifle, "A Royal Night Out," with no one I'd ever heard of except Rupert Everett and Emily Watson. Well, Rupert Everett is always worth watching, so it was an easy click on the RedBox screen.

The movie turned out to be a delight! It was a "trifle," but one in which you enjoy every minute if you just relax a little and go with the flow. The two girls playing the princesses are great and believable. "Lizzy" was dazzlingly familiar and I soon remembered Sarah Gadon from "Belle" and "Enemy" of a couple of years ago. "Margaret" played the younger and more adventurous princess to the hilt.

I recommend "A Royal Night Out."

I'm surprised that no poster on this board has mentioned "Roman Holiday," the 1952 Academy Award winner for Audrey Hepburn playing, hmm, a princess on an incognito night out. There is a mention in "Royal Night" that "... movie star Gregory Peck was seen..." someplace in London that night, so maybe that was an in-movie homage to the the earlier film.

I caught that. "Roman Holiday" is exactly what this film reminded me of.

I caught that mention of Gregory Peck too. This movie had lots of similarities with Roman Holiday, one of the most charming movies ever.
This time there was “double trouble” with 2 princesses! It’s very entertaining. It’s now included with Prime video. Highly recommend it, especially for fans of The Crown.
