What was up with Scott?

I could never really pinpoint if he was a good guy or a bad guy, he hung out with Bryce and groped girls with him at the clubhouse, he was shown pointing his hand like a gun at Alex and shooting him like he was threatening him.

But then other times he was nice to Clay, Clay even mentioned "Why didn't you hit me during the fight?", he appeared near the end with Clay and Tony and the others confronting Montgomery saying he's tired of being labelled a rapist.

I just didn't get what was up with him, i figured he would be revealed to be the one leaving the photos for Clay, but that turned out to be Zach. Scott's character just felt all over the place to me and i didn't really even see the point of him suddenly being part of the cast in season 2 when he really played no part in anything.
