This movie was just plain fun

Here's hoping for some more flicks from Mr. Battles. I came onto IMDB to see what other films he had worked on but was disappointed to find this was his first big project. I haven't read many of the comments on here but seeing as the rating is under a 6, I'm guessing a lot of folks didn't enjoy it as much as I did.

I went into this for Billy Bob, but while I enjoyed his character, the dynamic between the brothers was even better. Was this a cornerstone of modern cinema? No, but it's been a while since I can remember not wanting a movie to end. Thanks Mr. Battles, I had a blast!

Agreed. This is a 'shut off your brain and enjoy it' movie. Totally works on that level.

Exactly. No one will mistake this for a 'serious' movie so just sit back and have some fun. It reminds me of a Quentin Tarantino movie. Even the coloration of the film suggests it was meant to have a grindhouse feel.

There is some darn good acting IMO too. The Oodie brothers really interact like brothers would and I don't think it was all scripted. Some funny lines between them too.

And I can't help but wonder if Billy Bob is thinking 'Angelina' when he is talking to Celeste on the phone.

This is one of those cases where the IMDB rating (5.8) clearly doesn't reflect the true 'worth' of the film at all. Because of the rating I wasn't expecting much but watched it based on the comments here. Suffice to say I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Agreed 100%. I loved it.

Yup! It's just plain old fashion gritty fun action movie. I like this movie better than the sleek Expendables 2.

I really didn't expect to enjoy this film because in the first five minutes, the title characters are presented as greasy, redneck scumbags. However, they end up showing a heart and morality that comes entirely unexpected.

This film is clearly a southern fried homage (that's French for ripoff) to "Boondock Saints" but I'm okay with it because it never pretends to be anything other than that. As long as you are completely honest with the audience about your plagiarism (like Troy Duffy was in his opus) , I'm cool with it and can enjoy the work for what it is.

Fun flick.

I thought more of an homage to 'The Warriors' personally. Great fun film. Hope to see more from these characters.
