Why are there no male extreme couponers? I'm a single male in my fourties and I clip coupons for the items that I buy in every Sunday's newspaper. Now I really don't consider myself even close to being an extreme couponer like the folks shown on camera. Though I like a bargain as much as the next person and I know that there must be a minority of men who do use plenty of coupons whenever they go shopping. Though I will imagine that they are married and use their coupons while shopping with their spouses. I'm just guessing so really do not know for certain. I have not watched this show lately though do remember on one segment two years ago where a 17 year old boy was out shopping with his sister and they brought along a large file box full of many coupons and I don't recall the name of the store where they shopped. And so far he's the only male shopper whom I remember seeing on this show.

Hello again Grace, and yes I haven't seen those segments of this show and I haven't watched EC in many months. I remember your name as we first communicated on the Restaurant Impossible message board and you had told me that you're Armenian-American. Nice to read your post and I'm in the process of moving back to California to San Diego. As I'm in need of a change of surroundings and Florida doesn't agree with me!

Hey there, tbird! I'm glad you're moving back to CA. I *NEVER* felt at home anywhere else I lived, including Florida. There were good and bad things about each state I lived in, or visited, but none of them could hold a candle to California. I've been back home since 2006--and will never leave again. Hope your experience mirrors mine!
Thank you for your kind words and so agree about "other states" where I have lived too. Arizona was okay though couldn't stand the brutally hot summer temps. And get this, am a single male in my early 40's and FL stinks for single people my age and older! The majority of eligible women are too young and many single ladies here are into drinking and gambling and I'm neither a drinker nor gambler. I do smoke cigars and drink just socially though once I leave I shall never, ever visit again and won't miss Florida period! Plus I will never encourage nor suggest anyone whom I know to move to FL! California and Hawaii are two of the best places to live!

Very interesting post and I must agree with all of your points about the seemingly illegal use of coupons by those extreme couponers. I have in the past contacted consumer product hotlines for various food manufacturers and been offered coupons thru the mail and gotten many this way. Also if you contact the customer service dept. at the corporate website then this is another means of acquiring coupons as well. I don't drink Coca-Cola beverages as a rule so I never contact them anyway. And yes I do believe that this soft drink maker is too cheap to send out any! I'm also boycotting Coke due to the fact that they don't support our 2nd amendment's right for us citizens to keep and bear arms. And I do support this amendment and the right to own firearms. Happy watching!

Yes what a funny point about the possibility of saving one dollar from using a coupon and then using that buck to buy myself a winning lottery ticket! Now that scenario would be so awesome! And btw I must share with you the mentality of one of my longtime friends and former coworkers. His name is John, lives in Dallas and works a nice paying job as a senior software engineer in the high tech industry. John once told me that his philosophy on using coupons is that:
1. Single men like himself who earn a very good living don't ever clip coupons because the time and effort are not worthy of the minimal savings that he'd get out of using coupons.
2. Straight guys like him also don't clip coupons to use because it isn't macho!
3. Married guys do clip coupons to give to their wives.
4. Gay guys also clip coupons to share with their boyfriends.
5. Straight, single guys who love women don't clip coupons period!
6.Well as far as his viewpoint is concerned I so disagree!
I'm a single, straight male who's never been married and I really love women in a romantic sense! Plus I do clip coupons from my Sunday newspaper inserts which I do use when shopping in stores and I also feel so relaxed when clipping coupons. Its like a form of therapy for me. I also look out for store only coupons like for Target which is my favorite retailer. Thanks for your reply and I really enjoyed reading your posts!

yea, couponing IS fun, but I think this show was cancelled! It got rather broing, though.
