1200 Boxes of Cereal?

So yesterday there was this lady who was "saving up" tonnes of groceries and household supplies because she wanted to move to Hawaii and was using her massive amount of coupons to buy 1200 boxes of cereal...um, does she not know that whether you open it or not, cereal DOES go stale after awhile??? That's the reason for expiry dates...hello...

And just how is she going to ship her massive stockpile from Detroit to Hawaii? From what I've heard, it's very expensive to live in Hawaii...

It is very expensive to live in Hawaii and not only that, but she's not likely to be able to find a place large enough to store all her stuff. Homes and apartments tend to be very small in Hawaii.

Yeah I would love to know what became of that lady and her massive haul...it'll be stale by the time she moves there

I believe the episode you're talking about was a woman being sent to Hawaii because her husband is in the military. Food is super expensive in Hawaii, like twice what it costs on the main land. It might have been worth it for that family to pay to ship it.

The military will pay to move all your belongings except for food. This is why the bases have quarterly case lot sales so you can get cans of stuff for like .25 cents. This family might not have wanted to wait that long and just get canned goods so they did a stockpiling trip.
