Do real mothers make costumes for school plays?

TV shows are the only place mothers are expected to SEW their kid's costumes for school plays. I really hate this kind of out-dated cliche. I never had to do it. My mother never did it. Mothers today don't do it.

The parents or teachers who are in charge of the costumes like to have control over the look and don't want amateurs doing it wrong.

who the heck knows how to sew these days. once useful skills have since become obsolete. tv moms are the most stereotypical, fabricated BS ever.

My mom never did. She or my dad would have bought one for me but neither would have had the time to make a costume.

My mom sewed my costumes and my prom dress.

I don't sew but I do know how to use safety pins and a glue gun for something that is suppose to last only 2 hours.

YES!!! I've done it plenty of times and though it was something that really stressed me out I really enjoyed it and found it rewarding.

My mom did all my costumes and party dresses.. she taught me how to sew since I was a little girl.. now I do the sewing and everything that my kids need me to.

This is the reality, moms nowadays DO sew.. not all do, but it is normal to do it.
