The first time I watched MBGW I was rather shocked by what single girls wore to weddings.. I understand that girls in that culture dress like that (and I respect that) but I was taken back by just how skimpy those outfits were. In some way they reminded me of stripper attire..

No Mina girls in that culture do not "dress like that". And it is NOT to be respected because it is NOT their culture. It is totally a modern era thing. When one camera man FINALLY asked one of the little girls how she learned to dance like that she answered, "On TV you know, from Beyonce." They've learned their trashiness from AMERICA! They are probably watching the Kardashians and want to be stupid as them!
shareThere was an episode recently where an older woman was talking about how the lifestyles (the ornate gowns and behaviors) are of fairly recent vintage but have taken hold in their communities. Guessing that this is likely true it would be interesting for the show to explore this angle. I don't doubt that some of this behavior is modeled after the Hollyweird crowd. Those people live in their own little, strange world.
