The costumes were fine.

Yeah, they look silly, because ALL superhero costumes look silly without powers. Unless your Punisher and all you have is a black bullet proof vest. Take Spiderman, Captain America, and Thor and have them walk around a dark town in their costumes with absolutely no powers. What do you think that will look like?
