I'm not a country music lover, or even a modern music lover by any standard.

So many of the "slightly less household than Willie Nelson" country stars sort of elude me.

Who was the lady singing with Lyle Lovett when they were playing "Christmas Time is Here" from a "Charlie Brown Christmas"?

I'm assuming she is another country star of some sort, but I couldn't find her picture in the cast list here.

I'm not much into country music either so I didn't know who the woman was either. The only people in the movie that I know are Willie Nelson, Harry Connick Jr, Kris Kristofferson, Connie Britton and Lyle Lovett.

As mentioned, that was Kat Edmonson, and actually she's not so much "country" as:

vintage pop, traditional pop, easy listening, jazz, lounge music, baroque pop, bossa nova

According to her Wiki entry.

Aside from Willie, Lyle and Kris being known for country music, the other artists that show up in this movie are not country at all.

Marcia Ball, the Aunt who plays the piano, is a blues artist. Charlie Sexton, Marcia's husband in the movie, is a rock/blues/modern folk artist best known for the band Arc Angels which were largely blues rock. Sarah Hickman is folk.

Even though this is set in Texas, it's also set in Austin which is not so strong on the country music but rather very eclectic and more strong on blues and singer songwriter "new folk" which is what most of these other names are known for.
