let me begin by saying that I am thoroughly enjoying watching this, as I wrap Christmas gifts.... I am an avid Christmas movie connoisseur and this is definitely going to become a family classic! Harry Connick Junior, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, etc = an excellent ensemble!
I am also a proud southern belle but I'm embarrassed to say that I have yet to venture to Austin. So, I have a question for any of you locals there: is there truly a Live Oak Lane or an equivalent going under a different name?? And is it as famous as interpreted in the movie?

Yes there absolutely is, but the real street is not named Live Oak Lane -- it's 37th Street, right off Guadalupe.

It's a narrower street with littler houses than the movie street, but still stunning viewed after dark.

37th and a couple of others around the same block have an amazing collective effort where every house goes light crazy. It's a wonderful sight.
