I caught the end of an episode my son was watching last night - i dont know the name but it involved ghosts taking over the Jolly Roger and Jake and his crew helping to put them back in a box. Anyway, they gave the box to another ghost and a woman ghost and they took the box through the gates of Heaven - at least that how it came across.

This really annoyed me - how am I supposed to explain what those gates are to a 3 year old who Im raising Athiest??

Thats just bad form Disney - keep it neutral. We dont all beleive in God

They can keep it neutral, you have to find the way to talk to your son about what you dont believe but most of the rest of the world believe in some way or another.

Your way of thinking is what is ruining US, trying to ban everything that does not go according to what you believe in, instead of you adjusting to the country you live in.

Are you going to demand that all churches in your way home be demolished just so your son dont look at them and you dont have to explain what are those places?

Are you serious? It's a cartoon and make-believe. There's no such thing as Neverland and kids don't really fly because pixie dust. You're tripping over some ghosts and the gate? Even if you're atheist religion exist in the world and nothing in this episode was religious at all. It's simple say in Neverland they have a place where ghost live and it is apparently behind the gate. Just like each person has an island and the mermaids/sea creatures have the ocean. That's all you need to tell your kid. You're flipping out over something so stupid and giving atheists a bad name!
