Overweight parents were more critical

With the exception of a few, I've noticed most of the parents who were overweight/obese were a lot more critical of their kids during the duration of the weight loss than the parents who were thin/average (i.e. Maddy's dad+step mom). They (the overweight parents) would also try to sabotage the kid's diet by not being supportive and having bad food around still. Maybe it's because they were jealous of the fact that their kids were losing weight? I don't know, just something I've noticed, specially after watching Maddy's episode and seeing how supportive her family was.

I just watched Holly's episode and I immediately thought 'she's jealous' when the mom was criticizing Holly for taking 2 weeks to lose 3 pounds. In reality, some weeks are just like that when you're losing weight but the mom just hounded her for it and kept saying how worried she was, while sitting on her fat butt doing nothing.

I think both 'I don't want them to be like me' combines with 'I'm jealous I don't have the motivation to do this too' and makes the parent act like a fool.

omg, i felt SOOOOO bad for Holly! her mom not only was completely negative and non-supportive, but she also managed to make Holly feel like she should be the one to always apologize!!!! the whole show, i kept waiting for the mom to apologize to Holly & sincerely support her, but it was always Holly who was apologizing & having to support herself. that mom should be ashamed of herself.
