Boss or House of Cards?

Which do you prefer?

I think they're both quite good in their own right. I give the edge to HOC only because it's still in production.

Both are great shows, but the edge goes to House of Cards.

I recommend boss more but it's a toss up.

Boss by a fair margin. A fan of both.

Right now, I prefer Boss. I think its a tad better than HoC. Imo, if Boss got the attention it deserved like HoC did, it would still be on the air. If Boss was one of the first Netflix shows instead, it wouldnt have been canceled. HoC received a lot of mainstream attention due to being one of Netflix's first own shows, and because of Kevin Spacey.

While I enjoy HoC, the whole Zoey Barns character was tacky and annoying. How they killed her was extremely tacky as well. The talking to the camera Kevin's character does, while its easy entertainment, its a cheap gimmick.

Out of any character between both shows, no one has been better than Kelsey Grammar. Simply outstanding. And I im so ticked that we wont see a fitting finish to this series. To see his real decline and how others view him as the end comes.

If Netflix picked up The Killing, I see no reason not to pick up Boss and give us two more seasons. A show this good, deserves a finish. And what a shame it started on Starz. That was it's biggest mistake.

Both shows are DARK filled with unsympathetic characters. House of Cards is better produced and keeps the sex and violence at a more implied than graphic level.

There is a bit more cussing in "Boss" than "House Of Cards." I think HOC has a bigger budget for talent than did "Boss." Kelsey Grammar is the only "name" talent in "Boss". HOC has two major stars and several other known name talent in the supporting cast.

Both shows are pretty coarse and crude, but "Boss" is a bit coarser and cruder than HOC.

Maybe "Boss" is what CBS's "The Good Wife" would look like if it was on a premium cable channel.

I can't really think of a character in The Good Wife that is nearly as evil as Kelsey Grammar in Boss. The governor pulls some strings and threatens people, and perhaps fixed elections, but I can't see him going to quite the depths Kelsey did.

And of course The Good Wife doesn't really revolve around the governor.

Have you seen Damages? If not, I highly recommend it. Speaking of law shows and evil characters, Glenn Close definitely fits that bill.

I felt Boss was more realistic. It's darker but few politicians are out there *spoilers* killing people with their own hand. They have people who do it like Kane did *spoilers*

hoc is easier to digest because it's simpler to understand. But I preferred Boss's storyline that made you follow a little closer.

Also after watching both shows back to back I felt grammer's performance blew spacey's away.
