I crossed paths with Dan Golden (line producer and second unit director) on another forum. He said this movie is the result of a multi-decade running joke between James Best and Steve Latshaw. Best had a hand in the script and I'm expecting this to be tongue-in-cheek and a lot of fun. The movie is now in the hands of the CGI people. And God bless Dan Golden for hiring Holly Weber.

I had a dialogue going with Dan Golden but he stopped replying. I really want to see this movie. James Best is pretty old and I hope it's released while he can still enjoy it.

I am the director of the film. The movie is finished, now being distributed by American World Pictures. James Best is in fine shape and can be seen on the Hallmark Channel starring in the new movie THE SWEETER SIDE OF LIFE. As the great Dan Golden says, RETURN OF THE KILLER SHREWS is exactly as you might expect... both an homage to the first film and to Classic Drive-In movies and also a modern day thriller, with plenty of action and excitement and quite a few laughs. Awesome! Will it play theatrically or straight to DVD/BluRay? I must get this flick! What a great idea making a sequel to the cult classic. THANK YOU and I can not wait to see it.
