I didn't understand the plot to A Separation (2011)

Razieh tells Simin, not to pay the blood money because she fears something will happen to her child. However, Razieh's husband, Hojjat, needs the blood money, which is how this whole thing started in the first place. If they pay it, then is the problem not solved? Then Hojjat will stop stalking Nader and his daughter.

But for some reason Razieh thinks something bad will happen to her child if the money is paid. But then the creditors have no reason to come after Hojjat or his family, if they are paid the money. So what's the problem exactly?

She believed the money causes bad luck. There was no threat from hojjat's creditor.
She was a religious person so she couldn't accept the money which is not hers. It was wrong

This is what happens when one's religious, all logic goes out of the window. First of all it's not like God's telling her it's wrong, she has to ask people then other human beings tell her what's right or wrong based on how they interpret the Quran.

But what annoys me the most is if she's so moral, why the hell didn't she tell the truth from the start that she had the miscarriage because of the car? She waited until she was forced to come out with the truth when she could have saved everyone from the entire mess.
