Acting

I find it hard to believe that these people were acting. I imagine it is a documentary taken without their notice. How about the sick father ? does he really get out, wear his cloths, have some laughs and leave the studio after the shot ?. What about the child Kimia Hosseini ? and the incredibly talented Shahab Hosseini ?. Even the judge.. even the nurse/clerk in the hospital was incredible. How do they study acting in Iran ? and do they have something like THE METHOD or Acting studio ?
I wish someone answers for I am really curious
