Ending? [Spoilers!]

Sorry, but I didn't get the ending.

Did Matti kill Joslyn? If yes, what happened to Stanton?

What was the scene at Gage's house about? If all the people at the table were dead how did Matti die?

And at the very end, why is Matti under the floor boards from the beginning again? Was the whole movie just in her imagination?

Well its a post apocalyptic story, I guess her last happy image, is when she was with her entire family, at the dinner table, it made her go crazy when they died and she was probably suffering from some sort of Bipolar, schizophrenic problem, that she did not even know about, allot of people suffering from schizophrenic don't even know they have it.

Early in the story, intruders came by acting as friendly, something happen in the middle and then they killed the parents, the parents instructed the girls to hide, probably before the strangers knew the girls were inside, its strange that the killers did not know about the girls, because most parents usually have their kids pictures on the walls of their homes.

Schizophrenic people will almost do anything to stay sane in their own crazy mind, so In the end I think she shot both of them, because she was afraid and crazy, that she was going to be left alone, even though her sister was not going to abandon her, since they had no were to go, their best chance of survival was to stay together, but like I said she was crazy to get her sister drunk, put her in danger leave her with that other guy that they don't even know.

I think that the floor boards from the beginning, happen and all she want to do is go back to how her life was before losing her parents, sister and home, so she went back to Gage's home to stay with him only to find out that he was killed by that guy with the hand gun and knife, and her Hallucinations and Bipolar Disorder started to kick in.

So its up to the audience to figure out if it was real or not, its to hard to figure it out, because it could of just been all in her head, due to the Bipolar, schizophrenic problem and like I said, the intruders never notice that their were kids in the house, Based on parents always keeping pictures of their kids, and the intruders not taking all of their food supplies, and the shotgun shells, I have a feeling that Matti may have killed her parents.

Plot hole, they guy that they left in the desert would not have been able to walk at that distance in the boiling hot desert without allot of water, keeping up with the car that was driving for hours, he would of more likely die of dehydration or freeze to death, at night since the majority of people don't know how to start a fire from scratch, and what was up with the girls keeping a chunk of their moms hair and brains stuck together, and why did the father not keep the shotgun in his hands when the intruders came, I would think that they may have known the killers for their guard to be down like that.

seemed like days by the passage of time that was shown in the film but this is why I think that it may have been all in her mind. Kind of like a flash before death but in a world like that sadly, I don't think those girls would have received a clean death they would have been raped and abused like what Frank would do.

Although I enjoyed this film there were some issues I had with it, plot wise.

While the scenery were awesome and gave this decrepit feeling of death which I enjoyed it felt like some scenes could have had better transitions. As well as the music could've used a more dark undertone throughout the entire film, there was a little to much forced white noise it felt like, so although the world 'looked empty' it didn't feel as empty.
