The return of Magic City . . . .

Undoubtedly the Series Magic City is missed. A new series could very well be created and would make a splash on the TV market. Not only because of my interests in the content but the actors were a refreshing page of "American History " , villains , good guys, and current attitude - all relatively historical-- of the mindset at the time of Cuba and what was to follow.

The newer chapters and episodes could be a series that could sustain the ending of "American History " as is taught" since the rewrites of same have begun and certain mis-truths are still propagated as "history" remain.

Ben Diamond could reemerge with new vigor and clout as a peter in rival casinos in Cuba ( until the embargo) and Jeffrey Dean morgan as the Jewish entrepreneur could be implicated in the assassination of JFK. Remember he and JACK RUBY were on their way to Cuba at the same time.
Just a thought.

I'd like to see it return but I don't know about Ben Diamond coming back.

The character was good but pretty much played out, appearing to be headed to a lengthy (if not life) sentence.

Personally, I'd love to see Meg Bannock become the new villian. The seeds were there for that to occur with the family history (even Meg's remark to Ike that she met him before her sister did, suggesting that she felt jilted). The rivalry with Vera would have been an added bonus of conflict.

The writers seemed to be headed in that direction with the end of Season 2. The last scene with Meg end with Meg commenting that she will be a good partner; Ike replies, "I know you will." Meg kisses him and responds, "No, Ike. You don't really know me at all." The line is open to HUGE interpretation as to what she means. The last season left me with a strong feeling that there was more to Aunt Meg than met the eye. She wasn't helping Ike out just because she was the loyal sister-in-law and aunt. Unfortunately, with the cancellation, there was no insight onto any of this.

Agree with this, not only is Ben facing a life sentence but he killed a senior guy in the Chicago outfit plus the made guy who worked for Santos(?). If the police don't give him life one of the two outfits he declared war on will get him.

I would love to see it too. But I don't know how they could recreate the production.

The show starts Dec. 31, 1958. I was 22 years old, an Eastern flight attendant living in Fort Lauderdale since 1951. I watch the show with such great nostalgia. Every detail is perfect. South Beach before it was South Beach and where Jewish retirees lived in the Art Deco buildings because they were inexpensive. The cars, even a 1953 red MG. I had a black 1057 MG but I wanted the red one.

Sinatra, Jewish dominance even the criminals, all true. Sinatra had his following to be sure, but he was not universally admired. Same with the Kennedys who were actually trying to detach from Sinatra and his Hollywood cronies. It is like a home movie for me. I could have been a technical advisor but they had a pretty good one.

Dean Martin, who I think was the coolest member of The Rat Pack, advised Francis Albert that JFK was only using him. Old Blue Eyes ignored Dino’s advice, delivered Marilyn to JFK, who passed her along to RFK, and did absolutely Jack Squat for any of Sinatra’s political ambitions. The Kennedys were trying to “detach”? Distance themselves, yes. Detach, no, because they were never ATTACHED in the first place. They were using Sinatra, period. I live in Massachusetts, and I had dinner with Joe Kennedy II, RFK’s son, a week ago tonight.
