Can't stand Vera.

I hate her character. I hate everything about her. She seemed way out of her league. Everything she did seemed forced. I don't like how she treated Ike's daughter's real aunt-the jealousy over anyone else's relationships with Ike and his kids and the daughter's need to relate to her late mother, how she was jealous of that. I hate how she told the aunt she wasn't her sister's daughter anymore, that she was hers now. Like death somehow makes that true. They could have done without that whole character. I cringed every time they showed her storyline.

I would expect anyone in her position to feel the way she did. Her comment to the aunt was tacky and I even was shocked but the aunt was aware of how her presence made the wife feel. It was clear there was a vibe she could not compete with the ghost of his former wife. He loved Vee yes he married her yes but his late wife was the love of his life. Reminders of her like the smell of her perfume. His first wife was high society well polished Vera a dancer from Cuba a gypsy she was treated as 2nd rate she was disrespected to her face in her home.
