a clever blend of monster movies and buddy cop action flicks

i know from first glance this movie looks like total crap, but if you actually give it a chance you will understand the lengths they went to knowing they were making a B movie but to not turn it into a totally *beep* made for TV movie...there is a reason it's touring multiple film festivals right now (just played at SXSE actually) and the reason is the director was a big enough film buff to save the script...totally worth a watch if you want to see any B monster flick made over the past decade

It's no Lake Placid, Eight Legged Freaks, Slither, or any other similar film though. This type of movie has been done better multiple times before.

moisan, i agree it's not as good as the movies you mention but it's not terrible either. it's a fun, stupid but enjoyable monster flick IMO.

It's very different. Also LAKE PLACID and EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS had much bigger budgets. SLITHER was a combo of horror/humor, but more of an R-rated film. This was much more family friendly (except for some language). I'd probably compare it more to TREMORS, which is one of the best of the genre ever. This movie is more bad-cheesy, but still fun.

I generally have a movie playing "in the background" while im doing other stuff. i came very close not giving this a chance from the word GO mostly because of the actor playing Alex. But i gave it a shot.
im pretty simple, i dont need a super complex movie or a film to have deep meaning. i thought the interaction between "Alex" and Jose was fantastic. 2 of my favorite scenes are when alex is in the air conditioning vent and when they are in the elevator.
i really think "Jose", or the actor that played him, deserves some sort of award. He and his character are the one that made this watchable/enjoyable. with out him this movie would have been lifeless and flat.

just my .02$

I have to admit I am actually watching it again right now. Just started it and stopped to come here.

I too can enjoy a B movie. When I first saw it I was tempted to start my FF routine when I think a movie, etc is not going to entertain me with the high probability of deleting it from my DVR. I stuck with it once I realized they (writer, director, etc) were in on the cheesiness of it. I had a few fav scenes. The one with Alex and his sidekick and the little ditty song they came up with just tickled me lol. So yeah, it's a Sat afternoon and weekends are made for relaxing, vegging and enjoying good A+ movies and from time to time movies like Big Ass Spiders!

this was a great B movie entertaining and (intentionally)funny...no dumb ass dialogue or stupid people doing stupid things, yeah sure the SFXs could be better but they were still better than anything from The Asylum or SyFy channel..well worth watching/buying

We don't usually like or watch these types of movies but, It came on accidentally and we found ourselves sucked into it in the first 2 minutes and are enjoying it. Some of the characters are really pretty funny. Much better than we could have or would have anticipated.

Yeh it was really funny
