I Just Realized Who John Michael Higgins Reminds Me Of...

the late (and GREAT) John Ritter - and not just because they're both straight men who played gay guys; albeit, John play a straight guy who PRETENDED to be gay, on 3s Co :) But "Jack" and "Peter" are fairly similar roles, when you think about it.

Also, John, as most of you probably remember. was FANTASTIC at physical comedy, and though John Michael doesn't get to do as much of that kind of stuff on "Happily Divorced," I noticed that he is really good at it.

And while they don't really look alike, perse', they had that "All-American-(Cute)Boy-Next-Door-Look", as well as some of the same mannerisms - anyone agree??

Anyway, I think that John Michael Higgins is one of the most underrated actors of his generation. I know he's done a lot of Broadway, and he looked familiar to me from having had bit parts on sitcoms since the 80s/90s, but I really didn't know who he was until "Happily Divorced." I think he has the potential to be a big star, if the timing is right for a certain movie role or whatever...

I've seen him in a lot of movies. Most recently he was in Pitch Perfect which was a really great movie.

He was also in the Break Up as the brother of Jenn Anniston.

He plays a lot of minor roles!

I think he is great but I don't know if he'd be a good main character. I don't think I could handle it tbh!

Okaaaaay, but just curious as to why would you say that (???). Because a LOT of big stars had bit roles to begin with. Ever see George Clooney on "Facts of Life"? (late 70s/early 80s). Or Brad Pitt playing Carol's love interest on the 80s sitcom, "Grown' Pains"? Seriously, if he has the energy to do a Broadway show (8 performances/week), I don't know why he wouldn't be able to "handle" a lead role in a show, which is far less exhausting than doing live theater every night!! A lot of it is timing...

And what about the John Ritter comparsion? I could totally see him playing a "Jack Tripper" type role.

I didn't say he couldn't handle it, I said I couldn't handle it. It would be strange and idk if I'd like him as a main character. No, I've never even seen a George Clooney movie nor did I see Brad Pitt. I think Mr and Mrs Smith is the only movie I've seen with him.

Idk why but it's just something about him that makes me not want to see him the whole movie because really, not many main characters are as liked as the other characters sometimes! Like Rebel Wilson, she's always been a lesser major character and she's always been great and funny. Some actors are just better suited for broadway or to be the likable less major characters!

Gotcha. That's your opinion; however, I think he's FANTASTIC and cannot believe we haven't seen that much of him, esp since he's about 50 (so he's been around a while). I would love to see him in a major motion picture, or on a hugely popular network show (a sitcom, preferably).

Though don't get me wrong, I think that HD is a cute show, but it's no blockbuster that will likely last for years and years...

JMH is the best thing about this show.
