Happily Divorced coming to LOGO in September

Happily Divorced will be coming to LOGO along with A Different World in September.

I was a bit surprised to read this. The show definitely fits in with LOGO due to the content of the show, but the show was canceled by TV Land after only 2 seasons and 34 episodes. Shows usually don't get picked up for reruns unless they have at least 100 episodes or very close to it. Those 34 episodes constantly repeating will get old after awhile. When I read this news though, it kind of reminded me of Mama's Family and here's why -

Mama's Family was canceled by NBC after 2 seasons and only 35 episodes. It was picked up in syndication and because the repeats did so well in ratings, they were asked to produce new episodes, so the show was brought back with new episodes over 2 years later in syndication which was a rare thing to happen at the time. The syndicated run of Mama's Family ran for another four seasons and finally ended ended after a total of 6 seasons and 130 episodes.

I think it is possible that if repeats of Happily Divorced do very well in ratings on LOGO, they could potentially approach Fran Drescher to do new episodes on LOGO. I always felt the show was the best original sitcom TV Land came out with right next to Hot In Cleveland. With only 34 episodes, I could see this scenario turning into something similar to what happened with Mama's Family - as I sure hope so since I don't feel Happily Divorced got the proper run it deserved.
