Why did they think Gem was the snake?
He wasn't even with them the first time they got jacked and he would've been out the second time if they didn't wake him up. That didn't make any sense.

sharePrimarily because Sully was a short-tempered, paranoid, psychopathic as$hole. And Gem happened to be outside when they got robbed the second time.
