Everybody calls her fat, but she isn't. Maybe she really is fat in the book? Anybody know? And one of the detectives said she was less attractive than Heather which, IMHO, is rubbish. Maybe they should have actually cast an ugly, fat actress?!

It wasn't just that the detective said she was less attractive than Heather, it was the fact that he was saying it as though that was an understatement, that he was playing it down somehow. It really made me think that the part was written for someone plain and overweight, and they then cast someone that was the opposite in the role. Rather than cast a less attractive actress, I think it would have been better if they`d kept the same actress but just got rid of the appearance related remarks and replaced them with lecherous, sexual harrassment type comments, which would have been just as annoying to the central character but more believable to viewers.
It seems to be something that bugged the three of us in this thread, seeing as we all feature in the other thread devoted to this topic, but I`m glad it`s not just me, it was obviously making the film hard work for other people too.
