Not impressed by the pilot should I keep watching?

Not seeing too much hype around this show.

Fact: 31.5% of IMDb users wanted Avatar to win Best Picture.
Fact: 31.5% of IMDb users are idiots.

I'm sure you'll agree that "hype" is not always what it is hyped up to be. LOL.

Obviously, most of the Tuesday night hype/ratings is sucked up by America's Got Talent .... which has steadily degenerated into a schoolyard sandbox where Piers and Howie can publicly insult each other. No thanks.

RE: Combat Hospital ....

I work with non-profits who are diligently promoting peaceful alternatives to the highly-destructive war machine, plus my own recent medical emergency has removed all desire to watch graphic surgical procedures on TV.

AT THE SAME TIME .... there is "something" about this ensemble cast that consistently transcends the typical summer-replacement shows that offer little substance!

Elias Koteas, is PERFECTLY cast as Colonel Xavier Marks; the top on-site decision maker who calmly handles the intensity of each crisis, in a way that exudes unflappable wisdom and confidence (even when the decision/consequences quietly rip way at his own heart.)

Michelle Borth, as the top-notch trauma surgeon, Major Rebecca Gordon; the exceptional "life saver" who relentlessly rescues these mutilated victims from the agony of death and despair, while laboriously navigating how to deal with the various layers of emotional intensity (some of which are from her own pain-of-the-past!)

and Luke Mably, as the neuro super-surgeon, Dr. Simon Hill; a reckless goofball who is wrestling with the latent maturity that is boiling from within, and is likely to soon force him to act from that glorious place of centeredness that integrates ALL of his finest behavioral attributes into his daily choices.

The bottom line for me?

Excellent acting is more inspiring than unwarranted mainstream hype.
