Is Aussie Camo really that outdated?

That is Aussie Desert Cam, it works well for their environment. I have seen some Australian Troops wearing Multicam.

I would say 1980s... considering most armies were using Solid colours.

Canada didnt switch it's camoflauge uniforms untill the early 2000's when we went from Olive Drab to CADPAT.

Isreal still uses Olive Drab uniforms

You are correct. When I served in Kabul from March to Oct 2009 the Aussies wore exactly what is shown on the show. I do have a beef with the rank slip-ons for Maj Pederson (the Ausie psychiatrist). She is a major which is indicated by a crown in the Australian army but on the show she is wearing 2 pips which is a first Lieutenant's rank badge. If nothing else the director should ensure all the ranks are correct for each country shown and each rank represented.
