It's officially over. Here is proof.

I kept looking online for evidence of an official cancellation but kept coming up dry. Oxygen I guess had ignored all inquiries on the matter. In a desperate move I decided to find Joe Capobianco's website and email him directly. I didn't believe that I would receive an answer, but thought I'd try. Here is the exchange word for word.

From me:

Hey Joe! I am a huge fan of your work both on and off the screen. I, along
with the entire internet it seems, am dying for more Best Ink. But no one has
been able to find any info. Many people have tried getting some answers from
both Oxygen and the production company, but no responses. I thought I'd go a
different route by going directly to you.
Thanks for all you do for the tattoo industry!

Response:

Hey Bill. Thanks for the heads up and good words.
Nope sorry BI is done. The network Oxygen was just the wrong type of channel to have a show like that. According to them. It just had too diverse of an audience to work into there demographic. Don't understand why that should make a difference. But I'm not a network head.
Glad you enjoyed the show. However. That all she wrote.
All the best.
JOE
