2 stars out of 5. Here's why:

Are you looking at that poster and that title and thinking about lesbians? Why? "Passion" doesn't just refer to lust; it refers to any intense emotion. Get your head out of the gutter! This is a remake of CRIME D'AMOUR., where advertising executive CHRISTINE and her subordinate ISABELLE face off. No, it's not a cat fight where the 2 could accidentally kiss. What is it with you and lesbians?! Anyway, as you must've seen in the trailer, CHRISTINE kisses ISABELLE and--Oh, dammit!

McAdams is a year younger than Rapace, and looks a lot younger than she is. And even if they both looked like they were the same age, it would still be a problem. You see, it's not a coincidence that the protagonists are an employer and employee. Employers are usually older than their employees. Their positions in the work place and their ages are what cause games of power. That was the case with Ludivine Sagnier and Kristin Scott-Thomas' counterparts. Without those elements, we're left wondering what CHRISTINE's motivations really were.
