imdb's credibilty has been in a decline for some time imho. Unless it's a 3D-rendered super-hero/sci-fi fantasy action flick aimed at acne-scarred juveniles, I doubt we will see much written about this film for some time.

I live in a country town and this film will never make an appearance at the local 10-screen multiplex, with half of the screens dedicated to 3D films. These cinemas are pretty well empty 90% of the time. I will have to wait for this film to appear on pay-tv or DVD (eventually), so I for one will not be able to express an opinion on this film for some time yet.

et tu, Bruté?

Locked my wire coat-hanger in the car - good thing that I always carry spare keys in my pocket :)

If you want to see more written about films like this then write it.

If instead of complaining you discussed the film then you would be helping.

I do care. I watch as many of her films as i can find.

I'm with you! What a fresh, wonderful talent she is, though very low-profile in the USA...

I wouldn't say "fresh" (she's been around for some time now) and also - with films like Amelie, Da Vinci Code and Coco Before Chanel under her belt I disagree with "very low profile in the USA"

"The world moves for love, It kneels before it in awe" - The Village

"Da Vinci Code" was a complete disaster, definitely her worst movie up to date.

reply

I dunno. Coco Before Chanel gave DVC some competition as Audrey's worst ever movie.

I don't think it's true that nobody cares about Audrey T. anymore. But:

1) She doesn't get the blanket coverage and hype she received when "Amelie" was released over a decade ago - that's true;

2) The people who watch an Audrey Tautou film aren't perhaps the people who jump up and down to defend or promote the movie on boards;

There's still a lot of interest in her personally, judging by the number of activity on her IMDB page (as opposed to the page for her latest film).

I agree. She is still reasonably well known in the US. While not a particular fan of subtitled films, I still recognize Audrey Tautou's name while still unfamiliar with the names of many relatively new American stars. Audrey is one of many foreign actresses whose name makes me more likely to watch a film. She is one of the few if not only foreign actress who meets that criteria while also appearing primarily in foreign language films. Amelie was a great film. I found the romantic comedies of hers I've seen enjoyable. While the Da Vinci Code & Dirty Pretty Things are not among my favorites, I enjoyed Audrey in them.

reply

She's a French actress who appears mostly in French movies which are also mostly viewed by French people.

reply

You are right . She is not cute anymore
