A lovely film.

I went in knowing nothing and enjoyed this very much. Romance and a little drama. Nothing too heavy. A frothy French comedy. Exactly what one expected. No more...no less. Lovely soundtrack and ethereal photography.

Agreed on all points!

Agreed! The deadpan delivery of the actor playing the Swede Markus was excellent, too.

Completely agree. Halfway through the film I still wasn't sure about it or where it was heading, but by the end I liked it. It wasn't as predictable as lot of other romcoms, and was a little quirky in places which I liked. Agree about the soundtrack too.

Agree completely. Very enjoyable film and you just can't help but love Tautou (unless one is too shallow to appreciate the talent and style she brings to a film).

reply

i agree - it was perfectly cast, nicely shot and well performed, with strong support from the locations, costumes and soundtrack.

A beautiful film. That ended with beauty.

reply

Yeah, I was getting a little concerned about where it was heading at first, was interesting, but little more... then in comes Markus, and the whole thing takes off, and never looks back.

I absolutely loved this film. Found it ON DEMAND today...knew nothing about it. What a charming surprise.

This was a great film. Saw it on the Starz channel today. When this film came out it was only in the theater for a week. (NYC)

I really liked it. Undemanding but quite quirky at times. I enjoyed the dialougue, the way they talked to each other was remarkably blunt in places.

All the good ones like this one seem to only stay in the theaters a nanosecond. That is a real shame.

My wife and I watched it last night and thought it was a really good film. For me, the kiss that she couldn't remember was a bit of a jarring plot line but either side of that it was very good indeed. A great ensemble cast and I agree with the OP about the soundtrack and cinematography.
