But why do all Disney movies based on their series have the family going on a trip somewhere else? Wizards of Waverly Place - Hawaii, Hannah Montana - Tennessee, Lizzie McGuire - Italy, Even Stevens - A tropical Island, etc.
shareProbably because they have a bigger budget for the movie, they want to do something bigger and different from the show, and by the time they get a movie (which usually comes after the show ends), most of the sets from the show have been torn down.
