Some things I didn't understand - SPOILERS

So it turns out that the two lead females were behind it the whole time. It was a neat twist, but doesn't really make a lot of sense:

If one girl wants to be a famous actress, she's out of luck, now that she's a wanted serial killer.

If the other wants to be a famous director, same situation as above.

They reveal themselves as the culprits in bikinis in front of a pool, somewhere that looks expensive. How did they get $$ to run away for good? Obviously there will be a huge manhunt. There was no indication they had any money, and to hide for the rest of your lives in a tropical paradise will take some serious cash..

Any ideas? Did I miss something?

They took the $90K that Katrina had stolen from her husband.

Yeah, except Katrina didn't steal that money. Her husband suicided and left it to her.

I am shocked, Am I the only one who saw that twist coming in the first 10-15 minutes of the movie?

Except this was just their first series of killings. Sometimes people prefer infamy over fame.

They came up with the plot, acted it out, edited the footage, and presented their narrative of the killings to the police. Sure, neither of them will ever win an Oscar, but they still get their "fame" in "movies" through the filming of their murders.

It's not like their final video was some kind of audition tape for a movie director, expecting NOT to be charged for their crimes and going on with their lives. It was a threat that they were going to keep killing.
