It's kinda sad how excited I am for this show I hope it actually makes it to air, even if for only a single season, like Dresden Files.

Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

Except this might be good. I'm not a fan of the Dresden Chronicle books, but even to the degree that I like them, watching the TV show was excruciating. Especially Bob the skull suddenly becoming this British dude. Or Murphy being played by an Hispanic female. Murphy's being a short blond Irish woman is integral to her character.

This had better be a way lot better than that.

I didn't read any of the Dresden books until about a year ago and I remembered pretty much universal hatred of the TV adaptation so I didn't even think about checking it out ... but then my husband decided to watch it and I figured what the hell.

Maybe just because my expectations were sooo low, but ... honestly? I enjoyed it! I think the deviation from the book characters worked out OK for them. Had they tried to stay more faithful to the books, I could see it being a much bigger travesty. Even Bob, annoying as he was, probably worked better than some low-budget CGI smoke and skull-duggery.
