Trying to humanize the Property Brothers

I remember when this show first aired on HGTV. I thought, "wow, they're attractive, but they're so cold and robotic." Fast forward to 2015, Drew is coaching kid's basketball and Jonathan is taking couples out for drinks. And they're getting a third show with them on a ranch. I think HGTV is going into overdrive to make everyone appear "relatable." I will admit, I was not a PB watcher until recently so maybe they were always like that and I didn't give them a chance. Am I the only one noticing this trend?

No I've noticed this too, but I've also never seen really old episodes so idk if they were "cold" or not. Recently saw an episode where the couple went out for pizza and left one of the brothers of babysit their baby lol.

I thought the "babysitting" episode was a little over the top too. Very scripted. I mean you are in a hurry to get into a new home and putting all this money into it. Yet you ask the person over seeing the renovation to take time out to babysit so you can have a night out? I don't think so.
Lol But I admit the baby was cute.

Leaving one brother to babysit their kid..ummmmmm No! Its all for the camera and I know you know that but the show is so scripted and its ashame cause I'm sure that most of the men/women are talented but give in to the money to act like ASS holes..nevermind its not worth it.

If you don't like the show, don't watch it.

What you refer to as cold and robotic, I call business like and professional. They still had charm and charisma to spare without being silly.

Now that the producers have told them to increase the childish antics, I am less enamored of the show and less likely to watch it.

I like their direct, no-nonsense persona. In reality they are only there for filming and don't have their hands in EVERYTHING, we only see bits and pieces. It's just a scripted show and not a documentary.

I don't think they were cold. It's more they were nervous being in front of the camera. They just got comfortable over the years and many shows. I've always liked them. They can be a tad over the top but other than that they are enjoyable.

Them and Fixer Upper couple are my favorite to watch. Plus I live an hr and a half from Waco. So that is neat.

I'm tired of seeing them playing with toddlers. The time wasted on that could be used to show more of the renovation process and results.
