I found these movies very similar but Biutiful was more impressive and fearless.
Once upon a time in anatolia shared Grand Prix at Cannes but i thought Anatolia was better.
I gave 9/10 to BIUTIFUL
8/10 to O.U.A.T.I.A.
And 7/10 to this movie
I don't see what Biutiful has to do with this.
That film is very impressive technically, but a lot less genuine than The Kid with a Bike. I found it to be too self-conscious in its straining for 'seriousness', like all of Iñárritu's films.
How can you compare these 2!
Biutiful is a poorly shot, boring story with unbelievable characters like 2 gay immigrant traffickers, the only thing was Bardem's acting who saves the film from failing miserably to a very insignificant stupid little note.
I agree not as good as Biutiful also agree that is irrelevant - apples and oranges.
More to the point - it is not as good as VALENTIN a comparable film in theme.
