this particular movie is b/c I just seen The Magdalen Sisters (TMS). The movie is currently on Stars a Prem channel in the US. I'm glad I found this as it almost is like a part 2 of the orig movie & it even has 1 of the actresses (Noonan). You can also watch TMS on Amazon by renting it (streaming).
Yes. Noted that The Magdalene Sisters and this episode share one of the stars (Noonan). Her role is very different in both, thus proving her acting abilities. If I were to watch again, I'd do it the same way as I did. I had previously seen the film.
View Jack Taylor Eps 1 and 2. Then go watch The Magdalene Sisters(film). Then watch episode 3 of Jack Taylor. I was extremely impressed with this episode, having seen the film first. This episode looks back 50 years onto the events depicted in the film. A great double feature. I gave this episode 10/10. Superb.
People have mentioned it is interesting that events of the past influenced this episode. I think that misses the point. This episode is the crux of the series and shows exactly why Jack IS Jack. Who he is becomes perfectly clear knowing the facts about his mother. A truly revealing episode and much deeper than the first two.
