why the bad ratings?

the movie wasn't perfect but I enjoyed IT A LOT. Good actors and good history

I gave it one star because I'm tired of the Michael Myers, Jason rip offs. I also found it unimaginative that a airborne demon at end is transmitted by sound waves. It's like they didn't know how to save the bad guy so let's change him.

My Bees! No Lisa, your Bees died days ago. Theses are their angry, mutant descendants, Homer

Spoiler alert or???

Yeah, you're right about that. I tend to forget on movies that are not new releases.

You're absolutely right! This movie would have been MUCH better if Mark Hamill had played the drunken passenger Homer Simpson (American connection) transporting a crate of sentient, shape-shifting killer bees resurrected by Lisa from the DNA of a strain developed by the traditional Arthurian Merlin the Wizard (British connection) that freed themselves using telekinesis --carnage, spookiness and hilarity ensue, rather than the slow-burn Michael Myers rip-off that they settled on.

Maybe someone on board (The Teutonic stewardess? The Arab-looking steward?) could have had a slow acting zombie infection--zombies are impervious to bee stings--whom Homer could have seduced and then (after he/she becomes a contagious zombie) convinced to swat all the killer bees with a rolled up London Times. Homer could have then staked/shown mercy to his zombie lover. Of course, the pilots would have been among the victims of the melee. The exhausted, but ever plucky Homer would have then been able to "use the force" to guide the plane (now full of slow acting zombie infected surviving passengers) to a safe landing at JFK airport full of Christmas holiday world travelers - think Ready-Made Sequel(s)!.

Very good. You should send your plot to the show.

Thank you. But it seems incomplete without a Hogwarts, Underworld or Being human (I like Sam Huntington) connection. Any ideas?

No, lol, but I was thinking about the next segment of the 28 days franchise. 28 months works if the original characters are available. 28 years could start the apocalypse all over again. Or force mankind to change like the novel "I Am Legend". One thing I recognized today watching a movie about dementia is that the resulting human traits are fear, distrust, anger. When we lose what we recognize, we act defensive. So that breakdown in society we always see is the next step, and it takes a lot of love and trust to stop it. I always wondered why so many go evil. It's in us.
As for this movie, it could have worked with the ancient demon. So many movies use the legion plot and it works.

Yeah, I lived with the dementia of others for many years. They seem very happy until required to participate in (what is for us) the real world (i.e. eating, bathing, biological functions, sleeping, etc.). There is no schedule, no rhyme, no reason. The love and trust are often recognized, but it is as if the afflicted are agreeing to play a ridiculous children's game with a dullard, not you, not real life. The initial responses to change are indeed fear, anxiety, distrust, defiance, anger, etc.

Societal break down is similar, but not requisite. Sane people can make choices. Love of and trust in others can go long way to make the situation better, but in horror movies survival is based on correct choices. Choices based on experience and personality. People with good/bad experiences will probably try to replicate them.

As for the movie, I would have felt better if one of the characters had been somewhat more involved with or aware of the potential of the ancient demon. Then we could all jump on board.

Just started watching Grimm, early episodes. I like it.

I'm not liking this season much. I don't know if it's because of a character or the stories. I have recorded the episodes so I can go back and watch when I'm in a better frame of mind.

It could be the story. Any given premise gets stale unless you expand it, or make it more concise. Go figure.
