'We need a sit down'

Ok so whenever I watch a mob movie, and something serious needs to be talked about, like a murder needs to happen, they call a 'sit down'.
These wives take themselves so seriously! When they want to gossip, they say "we need a sit down".
Come on ladies! You may be related to mob, but you are civilians! Get over yourselves. You're not murderers and you're not hoodlums. Get over yourselves ladies.
'A sit down'....get over yourselves.
