Nick's Book?

Has Nick essentially writen "Outlander"? Because he was pretty defencive about the whole romance angle. The author of "Outlander" is always going on about it not being a romance, but a lot of people seem to be enjoying that aspect of it. Just like the girls did with "The pepperwood chronicles".
