Racist because most of the cast is black???

People need to get over their racist tendencies and just enjoy the film. How is it racist because the cast is mostly black, when almost every movie or show is mainly white? Christopher McDonald was the 5th star in this film and their friends and boss were white. How many black leads in Zombie land,The Hangover, The Wedding Crashers, Anchorman?

Who said anything about racist comments? I'm not even black, but I loved this movie!

I don't get where or why these complains are happening.

Anyways, this film pays homage to the original..that had a predominantly WHITE cast. So it's a compliment. People shouldn't be complaining.

Just look through the message board and thats the only explanation for why its rated 6.1, I gave it a 8, what about you?

reply

I went in not wanting to like it. Not because it's a predominantly black cast but because I enjoyed the one from the 80's. But I did enjoy it but not as a remake because I really don't see it as a remake, I see it as its own film. It was funny when meant to be funny, and dramatic when meant to be dramatic. I also gave it an 8/10. I gave the original a 7/10.

I loved the main players, and thought the secondary actors fit in quite well. I gave it a six because I found the story tired and predictable. Then again, I'm not the biggest fan of romantic comedies in general, anyway.

Let's not forget that the original "about Last night" movie did not have any black people in any feature roles.

Why is it increasingly common to remake TV shows and movies with all black casts?!? I just find it strange.

hmm, interesting... I left most comments lately to two kinds of movies:

1) movies with almost 100% black cast I trully enjoyed. In fact, i think white people really forgot to come up with nice " cheesy" movies that make you feel good.

2) movies with at least one black or dark skinned actor/actress featured for politically correctness, for parity or other reasons, that really ruins any credibility of the movie. for instance, Guinevere or .. White Snow played by a black actress. Just to fill the quota...

for the record, thos was a 100% black people movie I trully loved.
