Why is there no such thing as African science or mathematics?

They do have. Their legends are full of it, but it's either lost or not known to the rest of the world.

In Jared Diamonds "Guns, Germs and Steel" book he tried to explain why higher "civilization" evolved in some places and not in others.

Interesting read, most historians and anthropologist dislike "big question" type from a novice in the field and dismissed it.

But Diamond basically theorised that sub Saharan-climate, the lack of domestic animals for consumption and the role of malaria played a big part on why that area of the world was slower to develop.
