Did the politics surrounding this movie (the movie itself doesn't strike me as particularly political) make it impossible to give it an objective review?

What the hell is wrong with this movie's political content?

I mean, yes, there was a bit of politics, but it was handled in the gentlest and most inoffensive way possible. So much so that it didn't provoke any anger anywhere, well, not among sane people anyway.
