Black Panther is the best Marvel movie the studio has made.

...And the studio agrees.

This was a FANTASTIC movie.

reply

Lol,what do you expect him to say about a movie that just got released,"Eh, we've done better".

reply

On the contrary. As far as I know, Feige has NEVER been reported as saying “this is the best Marvel Studios movie made to date” about any of the previous movies. He always lets people know how happy he is with the finished product, but he rarely goes over-the-top with praise. Even if he HAS said that before, hailing Black Panther as the best was his immediate reaction. It’s what he reportedly told Ryan Coogler.

Call BS on it, however this is definitely a bold claim from big Feige. Many will disagree with Black Panther being the best or anywhere near the best, but they undoubtedly accomplished something big with this film.

reply

He may really believe it,but I also know no studio is going to say they were disappointed. It's kind of a throwaway comment coming from him. To say anything else would be a conflict of interest. Their marketing has been brilliant on this movie,so props to them. I don't think many critics or fans alike will call this the best MCU movie a year from now,IMO.

reply

All true.

Plus, IMHO the fact that the studio released this in February, instead of December or June when all the biggest blockbusters come out, indicates that maybe the studio didn't have that much faith in this movie. So if he's both proud of the movie and pleasantly surprised by it's massive success, yeah, he's going to say some very nice things about it.

reply

Every Disney movie is "the best one yet". It's their marketing tactic. The Last Jedi was also "The best Star Wars yet!" and we know how that turned out.

reply

Yeah, it's like when people get hyped about Stan Lee saying his upcoming cameo is his favorite as he always says his cameos are his favorite. The company will always hype its latest product. It's not a slam against companies as that's good marketing, but it is what it is.

reply

Every new movie from any franchise, in fact any new movie from an established director or actor, is marketed that way. It’s hardly a Disney tactic. The difference here is, has Kevin Feige ever said this about one of his past Marvel movies? If he has, a source would be appreciated. So for him to come out and state this is a big deal. And, what about the plethora of critics and fans also agreeing with Feige that Black Panther is the best one yet? (It’s in my personal top 3.) Beyond having a better rating than any Marvel & DC movie on the almighty Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, it has an A+ cinemascore. But these facts must be nothing more than a marketing ploy...

The Last Jedi was also ‘the best Star Wars Yet!’ and we know how that turned out.
Yup, it turned out to be the most filmmaker-driven, unpredictable, surreal, and REBELLIOUS Star Wars film to date. It’s no surprise it pissed off a lot of its fanbase and upset angry viewers with different world views. As someone who was never a massive fan of the franchise, this was the kind of film that I wanted to see (also props to Rogue One). But my admiration for it aside, I saw most critics calling TLJ the best SINCE Empire. Oh I know, they were so wrong about that as well. Nah.

reply

The Last Jedi was rubbish.

reply

I loved The Last Jedi.

thought Queen???

Black Panther had one of if not the greatest saturday to sunday hold of ALL TIME resulting in BP coming in way of projections and now is the 5th film ever to open above 200 Million +?

thoughts?

hey most be really ODD to considering you claimed Friday Black Panther was already "Losing Steam"

how can a film be losing steam When it breaking record for Holds?

ODD huh?

reply

I enjoyed TLJ, too, but not as much as Black Panther. The weekend box office was pretty great, especially for a February opening. I would like to see it again, but I’m ok not seeing TLJ again until it’s out on DVD.

reply

It's up there with some of the better ones. I like how they played it seriously with some solid social messages. The action was good and the cast was great too. They did this one mostly the way it should have been played.

I'm trying to go for an entertaining, informative youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see and if you have any thoughts or criticisms, i'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance. Review right here https://youtu.be/FwPQPeEAhjg

reply

It was ok. Not as good as Civil War.

reply

I am not much of a fan of Civil War. It didn't really show both sides well. All of Cap's actions basically proved Iron Man's side to be correct.

reply

exactly the point. As virtuous as Cap may look, he has flaws. On the other hand, as self-centered as Tony is, he is willing to be called out for his own actions.

reply

That's why I LOVE Civil War. We saw the exact same movie, and had completely opposite reactions. That means the movie Succeeded, admirably.

reply

true. It's pretty well made.

reply

Agreed. The movie was fantastic, much better than I thought it would be. Next to "Wonder Woman".

reply

Right! Civil War was actually my favorite superhero film but after watching BP twice and some long thought I think it has taken its spot.

reply

The first Iron Man is the best Marvel movie. It will never be topped. Nice try though.

reply

It was close, but that myspace reference and separate camera selfie at the beginning ruins it for me. Technology has come a long way since 2008!

reply

You'll look back and think the same with this movie and it's reference to Soundcloud.

reply

I thought the first Ironman was boring. I still remember my brother dragging me to his second viewing and I almost fell asleep.

reply

I also thought it was somewhat boring. Fun to watch Stark making the first armor and tinkering with his other versions, but the movie itself is boring.

reply

Boring? Really? you must be into constant action and explosions, and don't care much about character and story -- if you found Iron Man boring.

reply

or not. A story can be told without silly action scenes, guns and explosions and still not be boring. I also find Iron Man to be a boring movie, except the cave sequence which manages to keep the movie tense. After that it goes down to sloth levels of story development.

reply

I will agree with you that the cave sequence was great.

reply

I really liked Black Panther, but The Winter Soldier is still the best MCU film, IMO.

reply

No its fucking wasnt....its ok and mediocre at best...sure I like that there wasnt alot of lame juvenile jokes but the movie itself was poorly written and directed....it was kinda a boring actually, since the director sucked ass when he tried to directed fight scenes and car chases...and its the worst marvel movie ever made when it comes to CGI effects and the actors was weak af...everyone except Boseman and Freeman was mediocre...especially Michael B Jordan who overacted in every second he was on screen....this is one of Marvels worst movies ever made...even Iron Man 2 and 3 is better....

reply

I respect your opinion but I just don’t agree at all, man lol. I’m really trying to find a reason why anyone would really hate this movie because all of the reasons you just stated are just...not true. I thought the acting was phenomenal. The story? Deep. Hit me on a personal level. The only minor complaint would be the CGI in some places but even that would be nitpicking. But one of Marvel’s WORST? Nah. Not a chance.

What specifically did you feel was poorly written and directed?

reply

The action scenes were poorly directed, the story felt boring, even more boring than iron man 2 or 3 and the CGI sucked badly...I didnt watch in 3D but I didnt watch Thor 3 in 3D either and that movie is miles ahead of the CGI department than this overrated movie, when they were in their black panther suits they looked like shit, he looked way better in civil war under Russo brothers direction, and the fight scenes with black panther was way better in civil war than in this movie, the director is cleary not a big action director and the most scenes were to dark and was to fast shoot that you almost couldnt see shit what was happening and when you could see something, you clearly saw that they were animated with lousy CGI effects, this movie wouldve needed someone like Snyder or Vaughn who can direct bad ass fight scenes and good car chasing scenes and all the actors were mediocre at best except Boseman and Freeman, they did a good job.
