The 'Out of Order' issue

I think I might have figured this out....

If you go to the Episode List, it shows TWO Episode titles for Episode 2, "Firebomb", which aired, and "Playing God" which has an air date of "unknown"

There's also TWO Episode titles listed for Episode 3, "Thugs and Lovers" which aired, and "Samaritans", which has an air date of 2011

Additionally there seems to be two episode titles for episode 4, and no episode titles listed for eps 7, 9 or 10.

My thought is (and I could be wrong) maybe these "alternate episodes" were aired to a test audience, or were actually written when the show was originally called "Rookies", and never filmed. As a result of a possible oversight, maybe some scenes that folks (including myself) seem to feel are out of order, are actually a throwback to eps not actually aired, or only aired to a test audience?

Just a thought....

Whatever the cause of the problems, this show is a joke, and I LOVE cop shows. A cop show has to be REALLY BAD for me to stop watching it - and this show is getting close.

Last nights episode REALLY pissed me off. Shockingly obvious plot lines that seem to be written towards an audience of 10 year olds.

Back on topic, what order should we be watching these in? At the very least, 11 must be watched before 2, and 12 is clearly also an early episode, but what else is messed up? A lot, methinks.

Wikipedia's list includes production number. Here's the list in episode (aired, and certainly Netflix) order.

Ep P# Title
1 - 1 - Pilot
2 - 8 - Firebomb
3 - 11 - Thugs & Lovers
4 - 10 - Lost & Found
5 - 12 - Self Cleaning Oven
6 - 13 - Crossing the Rubicon
7 - 9 - Block Party
8 - 7 - Schooled
9 - 3 - Playing God
10 - 5 - Jumpers
11 - 2 - Ransom
12 - 4 - Samaritans
13 - 6 - Turf War

Not incidentally, some of the random nonsense is (what I will assume is) the stupid, stupid network airing in totally random order. There are story arcs. The characters reveal things, which influence future events. They grow and evolve. When not viewed in order, it seems stupider. So, if we go off pure production order:

1 - 1 - Pilot
11 - 2 - Ransom
9 - 3 - Playing God
12 - 4 - Samaritans
10 - 5 - Jumpers
13 - 6 - Turf War
8 - 7 - Schooled
2 - 8 - Firebomb
7 - 9 - Block Party
4 - 10 - Lost & Found
3 - 11 - Thugs & Lovers
5 - 12 - Self Cleaning Oven
6 - 13 - Crossing the Rubicon

I THINK that makes more sense. I haven't watched it three times and made a matrix of continuity notes, but it seems more sensible. Certainly the shamrock tattoo guy arc makes sense, but generally their early rookie mistakes are early, and the big, heavy Self Cleaning Oven story is at the end, not to mention closing with a giant gunfight and Apple not being gone then having light duty for being shot in the neck.

Who thinks I am wrong? And, shut up about hating the show. Irrelevant to this discussion so leave it outside.
