Jane Allsop (Tracey)

I was surprised that she had such a small role in this show, unlike her role in Blue Healers. Is she too old-generation? Are we, the viewers, looking to see new actors in our drama series?

I must admit it was refreshing to see a whole bunch of new actors in The Slap.

I thought of that too when I saw her, it seems like just a bit part. I wonder if that was her choice? (maybe only wanting to work certain hours/days). I hope they don't consider her a 'has been'!

What are you talking about? most of them are well established actors with a long list of credits, both here and overseas (check out their acting history right here on IMDB) Even Sophie Lowe has established herself in such a short time.

I reiterate SP.....................

All actors were experienced, several very well known - Dimitriades; Marinos; Okonedo; Lapaglia; Lowe, and of course, everyone's favourite, Melissa George!! Perhaps Hector's kids were inexperienced, but they had little to do anyway. Even the kid who played Rocco has prior credits to his name.

Good point. I haven't watched TV in a long time so perhaps this is why they seemed unfamiliar.

I only really know Sophie but she is the reason I watched initially, I like her as an actress. Really enjoying this adaptation and I now have the book so will read.
