That's an open handed slap,son.

How I missed the days when parents would beat their kids or say sorry after someone else beat their kids when they deserved it. In the US its nothing but a bunch of PC crap and liberal courts. You even look at your kids wrong and you have child services on your doorstep. And these brats today will rat you out. I remember reading about how a kid snitched on his parents having marijuana because he learned it in D.A.R.E.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

If ever a kid deserved a slap it was this one.

The 3 year old kid didn't deserve it though.

I can certainly understand why the guy slapped the kid, it really acted like a brat. And pain through corporal punishment is certainly an effective way to get kids to do or not do certain things. But it's still a bad lesson, it only teaches that you can do anything and demand anything as long as you have power.

That kid clearly had anger issues, pretty obviously because his parents neglect his parenting. The kid is out of control, and hasn't learned ways to deal with frustration. What the kid doesn't need is some wake up call, it needs to learn that it cannot have everything it wants, and best from someone who is firm and demands certain behavior, in a loving and caring. E.g. that he can join the game later again when it's his turn again if he puts down the bat right now.

Bollocks, that's a spouse-beater's false alibi; if violence worked it would only happen once.
