Kind of a curveball to have Richie be the POV character in the final ep

I loved this series overall (9/10, and I give very few ratings above 8). But it was strange to have Richie, a previously peripheral character, be the central figure for the final episode. It was quite a good little short film in its own right, but not connected enough to the story we had been following previously IMO.

Anyone agree? Or would you defend this artistic choice? Is this how the novel wraps up?

yep it's how the novel wraps up - the entire series in the aussie version matched the POV of the characters - with a lot of them as each chapter started i thought 'huh? why are we hearing from them now?' - but each one made sense, especially the richie one.

i really recommend the novel if you enjoyed the series - a lot more insight (of course as always with 'based on novel' films).

Yes, but it could've been worse. MANOLIS was even more peripheral.
