Spoilers. Why the sudden attraction?

It seems like the two remaining dudes instantly wanted to bang alex/alice once he transformed. How long were they on that ship? Maybe it would've been understandable for the young dude who probably didn't know alex well, but it's hard to believe that the other dude would be sexually attracted to his drinking buddy so fast.
